The year of 2016 has been filled with new dramatic, funny, action-filled, and emotional movies.
Many of the movies were an extension of a series. Others were based on books, and some were originals.

Some of the top grossing movies of 2016 were sequels or a continuation of a series. Movies like Finding Dory and Captain America Civil War, and Rogue One: a Star Wars Story. The top ten grossing movies were; 10-Doctor Strange, 9-Suicide Squad, 8-Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 7-Zootopia, 6-Deadpool, 5-The Jungle Book, 4-The Secret Life of Pets, 3-Captain America: Civil War, 2-Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, 1-Finding Dory.
The movies ranged from all different genres. Whether you like action, thriller, romance, Fantasy, etc. there was every type of movie made.

Hacksaw Ridge is a true story about a war hero that saved many people’s lives without ever picking up a weapon in war. Other people enjoyed slower and friendlier movies.

The BFG is a children’s movie based on the book by Roald Dahl. Other people enjoyed movies that were a part of long loved series.

Rogue One premiered December 16, 2016. Many fans looked forward to it as another add on the the Star Wars series.
The movies of 2016 were great and 2017 should bring bigger and better.
