With nine current members, the Envirothon Club needs dedicated and environment-loving students to join them and study their hearts out on a variety of topics, all leading up to the district competition. Winners of districts will move on to the state level competition in teams of five.
Here are some basic questions students interested in envirothon may have along with answers from Mrs. Gallagher:
Q: What do we study in Envirothon Club?
A: Aquatics, Soils, Forestry, and Wildlife
Q: Do I have to be qualified or knowledgeable about the environment to be in this club?
A: No, we learn as we go!
Q: If I don’t know 4 other people to join my team, can I still participate?
A: Yes! We will try to recruit more people to make another team.
Q: When is the 2017 Envirothon Competition and where is it held?
A: The 2017 Montgomery County Envirothon Competition will be held on April 26th at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park
If we win the county competition, we will move on to the State Competition held May 23rd and May 24th at the University of Pittsburgh – Johnstown.
Q: When do I have to turn in my Envirothon Competition participation sheet?
A: The Competition forms should be turn in by April 12th.
